3 things I learned covering the opioid crisis in Dayton – Dayton Daily News

When the Dayton Daily News launched our Path Forward initiative last year to investigate and identify solutions to our community’s more pressing problems, I thought I already knew a lot about drug addiction. I’d worked on a past project about pill mills, interviewed staff at a methadone clinic, and covered the crime and courts beat.

Digging into the solutions and sharing stories of hope led me to interview dozens of people in recovery over the last year. And hearing each of their stories gave me new insight into addiction and recovery.
