In September 2018, we convened a group of 23 Ohio residents to explore the question “What roles might journalists play in supporting healthy, thriving, and vibrant communities, and how can they fulfill those roles?”
Confronting Ohio’s Addiction Crisis
Ohio has been hit hard by the opioid crisis, but traditional coverage of the epidemic, such as weekly overdose totals, leads to disengagement, apathy, or outright hostility towards reporting. We sat down with communities across the state to hear their stories and identify the information they needed to confront the crisis.
