In April 2018, we hosted three community conversations in Columbus, Marion, and Newark exploring what the addiction crisis looks like, possible causes, and potential local solutions.
Our local project partners include the Chillicothe Gazette, Columbus Dispatch, Newark Advocate, Marion Star, WBNS-10TV, WOSU, and Eye On Ohio. We heard from participants at our Miami Valley events that Ohio isn’t just facing an “opioid crisis”–but rather, an “addiction crisis”. We used these questions to guide the conversation:
- What does addiction look like in our community?
- What do you see as causes of the addiction crisis here?
- What steps might we take to combat the addiction crisis?
