At our events in Washington Court House around 60 residents, including people in recovery, nurses, treatment specialists, community leaders, a county commissioner, and a mayor, gathered to discuss how their community could face the opioid crisis head-on. Many people in the room agreed that more treatment and recovery resources are needed in rural areas like their community, as those seeking treatment currently need to travel to metropolitan areas with more outpatient options.
