Two-thirds of Americans don’t place much trust in vital institutions, according to a new PBS/Marist poll.
“Overall, 61 percent of Americans said they do not place much trust in the Trump administration. Seventy percent of people who identify as political independents said they do not trust the Trump administration, along with 90 percent of Democrats. Among Republicans, 84 percent of respondents said they trust the president and his administration.”
News media are worse: 68 percent, little or no trust.
Deeply troubling. Compare this with a recent Pew study of international attitudes towards the U.S.
What does a country look like, how does it act, in order for people to trust?
